God placed Adam and Eve in a beautiful garden and gave them everything they needed. They were free to enjoy the garden, but God also gave one command for their good.

The serpent tempted them to distrust God's word. Adam and Eve disobeyed, and shame and fear entered the story. They hid, but God came seeking them.

This story should be told gently. It explains why the world is broken, but it also shows that God does not abandon his people. Even after sin, God begins a rescue story.
